With Monday’s bombing at the Boston Marathon and then last night’s news of the explosion in West, Texas, it has been a tough week of news (and I’m sure there are other bad stories this week to add to these). The attached video is of the opening of last night’s Boston Bruins’ hockey game, the first Boston team to play after the bombing. I heard the crowd singing on Dan Patrick’s radio broadcast this morning and thought the audio, by itself, was compelling. We will return to our regularly scheduled programming on Down syndrome and prenatal testing tomorrow, but, in light of this week’s string of bad news, the crowd’s rendition of the Star Spangled Banner provides a needed break.
It was too bad Boston couldn’t pull out the win in OT!
That would have been a nice bookend to a great start of the game.
